Joseph Fincher
A dedicated educator and mental health professional with more than fifteen years of service to the Houston community, Joseph Fincher has built his career around compassion, advocacy, and personal growth. His passion for supporting others began in his early twenties while living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, where he became deeply aware of the challenges faced by individuals living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic sexually transmitted illnesses. Since then, Joseph has devoted himself to fostering education, emotional wellbeing, and meaningful human connection through his work in both the classroom and therapeutic settings. Known for his ability to inspire growth in students, colleagues, friends, and families alike, Joseph brings a deeply community-centered approach to everything he does. Through Compassion in Motion, he hopes to expand access to sexual health education, promote awareness and prevention, and provide support and care to individuals navigating the uncertainty of cancer and other health challenges.

With a lifelong commitment to service and community wellness, Joseph Arguelles has dedicated his work to uplifting and supporting individuals across Houston through public health outreach, advocacy, and leadership. Introduced to community engagement at a young age through mentorship in healthcare initiatives, Joseph quickly developed a passion for creating meaningful impact through education and support services. Over the years, he has contributed to organizations including Toys for Tots, the Medical Reserve Corps, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, and the City of Houston. His leadership abilities were recognized early when he became the youngest administrator in the Medical Reserve Corps, serving for eight years with distinction and dedication. Joseph’s background in scouting, psychology-focused education, peer counseling, and blood drive coordination has strengthened his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Through his work with Compassion in Motion, Joseph continues to champion accessible healthcare, emotional wellbeing, and community empowerment with empathy, integrity, and purpose.

An educator, advocate, and community-focused leader, Terry Garnica brings compassion, resilience, and a deep commitment to service into every aspect of her work. After several years serving as a Deputy, Terry made a transformative career shift in 2020, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree and stepping into the field of education as an English/Language Arts and Reading and Inclusion teacher in the Houston area. Since entering the classroom, she has embraced teaching as both a personal calling and an opportunity to positively shape the lives of young people through encouragement, inclusion, and growth. As a proud wife and mother of four, including a son currently serving in the United States Marine Corps, Terry understands the importance of perseverance, empathy, and strong community support. Beyond education, she is passionate about giving back through her involvement with the Special Olympics, where she finds joy in celebrating determination, inclusion, and the power of human connection. Through Compassion in Motion, Terry hopes to continue fostering care, dignity, and encouragement for individuals and families throughout the Houston community.
